Couple’s Photoshoot at Chief Records in the Fort Worth Stockyards:

A Love Story Captured Through the Lens

There’s something magical about capturing the love between two people, especially when they’ve been together for 7 amazing years! That’s exactly what I got to do during a recent couples photoshoot with Kevin and Doris in the iconic Fort Worth Stockyards, at the ultra-cool Chief Records. It was an absolute blast, and I can’t wait to share the details of this unforgettable session with you!

Why Chief Records Was the Perfect Spot for Kevin and Doris

When I put out a model call for a couples photoshoot, Kevin and Doris were a perfect fit! Doris is a local model, and she has such an incredible presence in front of the camera. Kevin and Doris knew they wanted something that would feel genuine, fun, and completely them. I immediately knew Chief Records was the perfect backdrop. It’s a quirky, stylish venue with a perfect mix of retro charm and modern vibes—just like this adorable couple!

Located in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards, Chief Records offers a one-of-a-kind atmosphere with its funky décor and laid-back style. As soon as we stepped in, the vintage vinyls, cool signage, and eclectic touches were a photographer's dream. Plus, with the Stockyards as a backdrop, we had the best of both worlds: urban charm mixed with western heritage.

Seven Years Strong: A Love That Continues to Grow

Kevin and Doris have been together for seven years, and it’s clear they’ve built a relationship that’s full of love, laughter, and adventure. Their connection was so easy to capture through the lens—the way they naturally supported each other, the shared smiles, and the little inside jokes that only they understood. It’s always a privilege to work with couples who have such a strong, genuine bond, and Kevin and Doris are no exception!

The Magic of Couples Photoshoots

What I love most about couples photoshoots is how personal they are. You get to witness the quiet moments, the shared looks, and those spontaneous bursts of laughter that really make a relationship special. From the candid smiles to the more intimate poses, each shot told a story of love that’s been built over the years. For Kevin and Doris, their seven-year journey was captured perfectly in every frame.

Tips for Your Own Photoshoot in the Stockyards

If you’re considering doing a photoshoot in the Fort Worth Stockyards or at Chief Records, here are a few tips to make the most of your session:

  1. Embrace the Vibe: The Stockyards have a rich history with a unique blend of western charm and urban cool. Dress to complement the atmosphere—whether it’s casual, vintage, or something a little bold!
  2. Don’t forget to laugh and be yourselves – The best photos happen when you’re relaxed and just enjoying the moment together.
  3. Choose the Right Time of Day: Golden hour (the hour before sunset) is perfect for soft, warm lighting. If you want a more dramatic look, consider shooting during the early morning for cool, crisp tones. Don't forget that there's the twice daily cattle drive at 11:30am and 4:30pm that can add a unique dynamic!
  4. Explore Different Locations: The Stockyards are packed with picturesque spots—rustic fences, vintage signs, and western-style buildings. Take advantage of the variety of settings to add some variety to your shoot.
  5. Don’t Be Afraid to Move: You don’t have to stand still for every shot. Walking, spinning, or even dancing can create fun and dynamic images that feel alive and energetic.
  6. Add Personal Touches: The Stockyards are full of history, but your shoot should feel personal. Incorporate elements that reflect your relationship—like a favorite song, location, or hobby.
  7. Keep It Light and Fun: Don’t stress about getting the perfect shot every time. Enjoy the process, and let your photographer capture the fun moments as they unfold.
  8. Have a Plan for After: The Stockyards have so much to offer, so why not turn your photoshoot into a fun date? Grab a bite to eat at one of the local restaurants or shop for unique souvenirs to remember the day. One of my personal favorite spots is Second Rodeo, a cool outdoor bar and food court with live music and a chill vibe.

Wrapping Up: A Day to Remember

This photoshoot was more than just a session—it was an experience. Getting to capture Kevin and Doris in such a unique spot, celebrating seven years of love, was an honor.
